The protagonists of my blog today are Mother Love Bone, an American band that, if events had gone differently, we might still be hearing about today.
In particular, we talk about the album “Apple“.
The album was released posthumously in the summer of 1990 and is the only one released by the band.
A few days before its release, frontman Andrew Wood tragically died of a heroin overdose.
The band is generically placed in the grunge movement, although the more appropriate collocation is alternative rock.
The music, wanting to draw comparisons with the most important bands of the grunge scene of the period, is sunnier than the roughness of Nirvana and the gloominess of Alice In Chains.
After so many years, Mother Love Bone‘s artistic proposal still fascinates, also thanks to the vocal timbre of the singer.
