Succeeding in the feat of adapting a science fiction work like 3 Body Problems by Chinese author Liu Cixin is indeed a remarkable feat, given the complicated plot, the myriad of complex characters, the philosophical reflections and the knowledge of physics, mathematics, engineering and biology.
Characters led more to reason than to be carried away by feelings, show their fragility and humanity in contact with the experience of death. The plot is surrounded by important departures, which involves putting the protagonists in uncomfortable situations.
From an analytical approach we then move on to uncertainties; we question the value of life, friendship, partnerships and memories; we reflect on remorse and regret, free will and existential fears.
The series is absolutely up to the mark and is a little gem in the sea of disappointing series in the Netflix catalogue.
Absolutely to watch, calmly trying to understand all the facets and meanings.
Available on Netflix.
